Compare Critical Role sleeves featuring Nott the Brave and Vax'ildan. Learn which art style and price point better suits your deck protection needs.
Quick answer
Choose Nott sleeves for a playful, mischievous vibe at a lower price, or Vax'ildan sleeves for a more dramatic, heroic look that costs a bit more.
Art style differences
Both sleeves feature characters from Critical Role's Vox Machina campaign, but they capture very different personalities. Nott the Brave is a halfling rogue known for her cunning and light-fingered habits, and the sleeve art reflects that with a more playful, roguish expression. Vax'ildan, the wandering half-elf, carries a more serious and heroic demeanor, making his sleeve design feel more epic and story-driven.
If you're building a deck around a specific character or theme, the sleeve art can reinforce the identity of your deck. Nott sleeves add a touch of trickster energy, while Vax'ildan sleeves lean into classic fantasy heroism.
Price and value
The Nott sleeves are priced at USD 7.69 (catalog comparison price USD 10.99), while the Vax'ildan sleeves are USD 8.24 (catalog comparison price USD 10.99). Both offer a discount from the comparison price, but Nott sleeves save you an extra USD 0.55 per pack.
If you're on a tight budget or need to sleeve multiple decks, the small savings from Nott sleeves can add up. However, the price difference is modest, so the decision should primarily be about which character you prefer.
Trade-offs at a glance
- Nott sleeves: playful and affordable: The art captures Nott's roguish personality, and the lower price makes them a budget-friendly option. The playful design may not suit a deck that aims for a more serious or epic tone.
- Vax'ildan sleeves: heroic and dramatic: The art presents a more serious, story-driven character, which fits well with fantasy hero decks. The slightly higher price is a small trade-off for the distinct heroic aesthetic.
- Quality and protection are identical: Both sleeves are described as high-quality and designed to protect your cards. The only meaningful differences are the art style and price. Choose based on character preference and budget, not protection level.
